Ministry of the Word - Lectors
Eucharistic Ministers
At all daily, Sunday and Holy Day Masses, lectors proclaim Old and New Testament readings, lead general intercessions, and make any necessary announcements. They serve at other liturgical celebrations as needed. Lectors usually read one weekend per month. They meet twice a year for instruction in reading techniques and related matters.

This ministry is to distribute the Body and Blood of Christ at all Masses. The Eucharistic ministers serve Masses which they are assigned. If ministers are unable to fulfill their commitment at the specific Mass, they are to provide a substitute. All new ministers are required to take a special training by the Archdiocese to become certified for this ministry.

Ministry of Hospitality
Children's Liturgy Program
The ushers provide service at Saturday evening and Sunday Masses and are a welcoming presence to all the assembly. This group of volunteers takes up the collections at all Masses, and facilitate those bringing forth the bread and wine. The ushers distribute the parish bulletin after Mass, clean up the pews to make the church inviting for the next Mass, as well as count the number of attendees at mass during the month of October for the Archdiocesan census.

Held during the 9:00 am Sunday Mass, the Children's Liturgy program meets in the choir room in the Church. Parent volunteers teach the children about God's Word at a level they understand. The children sing, learn prayers, listen to Bible stories, and complete an art project pertaining to the gospel of the day. There is a nominal fee per family, which can be waived for financial reasons. The program is a highlight for the children and allows a rich, age based experience of the liturgy of the word.
